IMPORTANT INFO FOR CARAVANS & MOTOR- HOMES

Drivers of caravans and mobile homes - When  approaching  the campsite from the direction of Pickering/Kirkbymoorside DO NOT use Stormy Hall Bank as its steep narrow and dangerous. Instead continue straight along to CASTLETON . Once through Castleton heading for Danby you'll find a right hand turn to Botton and right again on to Yall Flat lane at Danby Primary School again signed for Botton. There'll be a festival banner there!

Follow the twisty road for 2.2 miles. At the crossroads carry straight on and you'll find the entrance to the campsite about 50 yards on your right.

You made it!!

DIRECTIONS TO BOTTON

Depends where you're coming from....

FROM MIDDLESBROUGH (and coming south down A1 or A19)

Follow A172 / A171 -  to Whitby

Pass Guisborough. After coming up a short, steep winding hill with a car park at the top, on left, drive for approx 1 mile then turn right at the top of another sloping hill (Castleton, Hutton Le Hole).

Follow moor road for approx 3 miles into Castleton. Keep going til you come to a T junction in the village centre.

Turn left and follow road down hill past the church on the left. IGNORE SATNAV IF IT WANTS YOU TO TURN RIGHT BEFORE THE CHURCH. Second right (third if you count little entrance to mini housing estate) turn to 'Botton Hall' on signpost.

Follow road up hill, bear left and along until you see Danby primary school on your right. Turn right immediately before the school.

Follow road for 1 mile until you drive through the middle of a farm (this is Church House Farm - where you can check in if you are staying there)

To BOTTON VILLAGE – carry on along road for another mile.
JOAN OF ARC HALL – go straight on at crossroads (15mph speed limit), past big wooden shop (Village Store) on left, over flat bridge til you come to a T Junction. Turn left, up hill 50yds and car park is on your left.
CAMPSITE – straight on at crossroads and campsite is 150 yards on your right (before you get to Village Store)

Coming North up A1 or A19

(Less busy route)
Turn off A19 near Northallerton onto A172 to Stokesley

At Stokesley, go straight on at the roundabout heading for Great Ayton, Guisborough

After approx 200 yards (past a couple of big houses on right and opposite a big house on left) take a sharp turn right to Kildale.

Follow winding country road for 10 miles through Easby, Kildale then on 5 miles into Commondale. Down hill into village 'centre' and turn right at the pub on your right.
Follow road, right at the fork, under railway bridge and on up hill onto moor til you come to T Junction (top of Castleton High St).
**Turn right and follow road round to left onto high moor.
Straight on for 2 miles until you see festival signs on left and then turn left down a very steep hill (no caravans etc allowed). Follow road down into Village, turn right at crossroads for Joan of Arc Hall (see above)
**Alternatively, turn left a T junction, down hill through High St., past Co-Op on left then second (or third see above) right to Botton Hall. (see above)

(Busier roads but more direct)
Turn off A1 onto A170 to Thirsk. Follow road (to Scarborough) through Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside.
Turn left to Hutton le Hole. Drive through H le H and follow road up onto moor. Pass big pub on left (or better still call in as its fab!!) The Lion Inn – Blakey Ridge and pass turn off on left for Farndale.
About 1 mile further on, follow Festival signs  to Castleton. Follow the road through Castleton until  you leave the village Turn right at the junction which is signed for Botton Hall and then left again in about 1 mile at The Danby Primary School on to Botton Lane. You'll see a festival banner there. Follow that  narrow  winding road for 2.2 miles until you arrive at Botton crossroads - straight across into the village pass the lay-by  for Botton School on  your left and soon after on your right is the entrance to the camp site. YOU MADE IT!!
